About me
As a Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of Texas (USA) I have worked with individuals, romantic partnerships, families, and groups that have experienced family conflict, domestic violence, sexual assault, addiction issues, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. I also have a strong background working with concerns about self-esteem, career and education, sexual identity, gender identity, and faith/spirituality.
As a professional helper I assist people in understanding more about their needs, their partner's needs, and routes that they may take to reach a healthier space. Kindness, compassion, and patience are key to my work with you and your partner. On your therapy journey both of you will learn many new things about yourself and your partner. It is also my responsibility to help both of you develop healthier ways of coping and to assist both of you in exploring your individual and relationship strengths. Parts of your story are shared over time. I will be patient as each person develops a comfort with the process and will respect limits you and your partner express during this journey. Please note that my style blends listening with education and action. This style may be challenging for clients that desire a different design/process in therapy.
If you and your partner feel ready to share some of your story, I am ready to listen, and will do what I can to assist you.
Side notes: If you are requesting therapy services for the first time please be aware that I am not online 24/7, yet I will do my best to respond efficiently. In other words, I ask that you be patient as you wait for my response to your request for therapy. We may be in different time zones as well. Please be sure that you and your partner are prepared to start the therapy process soon after you request services, or after you get connected to me, and both partners need to check the platform regularly for correspondence. If you are having difficulty connecting to the therapy experience please let me know before exiting therapy. Sometimes a small miscommunication may be the issue and I will do my best to hear your concerns so that we can work towards resolution collaboratively. If you are a returning client wanting services with me again, or a new client preferring to work with me, you can expedite the process by reaching out to the helpdesk and letting them know so that they can contact me with the referral. Outside of this, my availability opens every few months; as clients are graduated, new spots open up.
At this time I am only offering Voice Call (phone/audio) and Live Chat sessions. Please be aware of this before starting, and/or during, the therapy process.
***Because a significantly growing number of clients are disclosing concerns about sexually explicit media (SEM; porn) use and sexual choices that they, and/or their loved ones, are making, especially in the last few years, I am especially keen to continue helping clients struggling with varying levels of sex and porn addiction. Mirroring other forms of addiction, shame, secrecy, denial, and disbelief are significant barriers that keep these cancers alive.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Victor Garcia. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Dedicated is the word that comes to mind when talking about Victor. Not only to his clients but to his craft. He really honors this vocation.
Victor has been a key player in guiding my wife and I back to each other and this time with tools that help eliminate needless talk or actions.
Victor has helped me deal with my underlying anger issues and depression which has all stemmed from my inner dialogue, which Victor recognized right away. I’ve also learned through our work together how some of my childhood experiences have deeply rooted themselves as limiting belief systems. Through this, I’ve become more at peace especially during chaotic events and when I do stumble I utilize the tools I’ve learned to get through them faster and easier. The distressing feelings that used to take over me for hours affecting myself and my loved ones around me, now last just a short moment or replaced with feelings of peace, power and joy. I’ve had 3 big revelations during our 7 months of therapy each time culminating in me breaking down sobbing, not out of sadness but out of absolute relief at uncovering the puzzle pieces of my life, and why I do the things that I do and why I think a certain way. The skills I’ve learned from Victor have been invaluable and I whole heartedly wish that everyone can learn these in order to fully live in peace, power, and joy.
Victor is a very kind and caring counselor. He offers feedback that is helpful and honest. Victor also receives input well. I have been working with Victor for a few short months, but he has provided me tools during that time that have allowed me to challenge my negative thought patterns. Victor lets me know when I am making progress, which is something we all could use more!
The work is long and hard, but because Victor is not offering a bandaid, he is helping you find the root causes and guide you in fixing it.
Kind and compassionate counselor. I appreciated his advice and alternate options. The pace felt slow, but I understand the need for patience, addressing basic issues before digging deeper.
Victor has been an amazing counselor. He is experienced and has great methods to tackle issues.
