For the past 24 years, my advanced training as a psychotherapist has includes work with couples and families. I have an in-depth understanding of relationship issues at all levels of difficulty. One of my favorite graduate courses to teach is titled 'Advanced Clinical Work with Couples and Families'. It allows me to connect with the latest research and best evidence-based practice models to help my clients. My approach tends to be more egalitarian, where I seek to find balance within the relationship. Power struggles and win-lose situations are certainly discouraged. My ultimate goal is to encourage both parties to love, respect, support and nurture each other to bring out internal and external happiness, within the relationship and the social environment.

Velma has been a great asset for myself and my partner. I feel she is knowledgeable in what she does and am looking forward to working with her in the future.
Velma has been such a great help to us. We came to her with problems that we had been having for many years and over the past 5 months, she helped us recognise and talk through them without it really feeling like work! She is kind, sincere, a great listener, extremely knowledgeable, understands the balance of being tough but also compassionate and importantly makes sure each has their turn and is equally heard. We were wary as we had tried 3 other counsellors before her who we didn't gel with, plus we were unsure about not having video, but this was not an issue in the end. We have re-learnt how to communicate with each other again and feel much stronger, capable and closer as a couple. Thank you so, so much :)
Gives good advise and listens/understands very well. Luck to have her as our therapist.
Velma is an excellent counselor with a wealth of experience and practical advice.
She is a kind and patient doctor that can also tell you things you may not want to hear but need to to help you wake up and grow.
Velma has been a great help. I appreciate her realness and support to both. She really has her ways of making one feel better about communicating their feelings.
Velma is competent, caring, and we feel like she is very dedicated. She listens to our concerns and provides very well thought out solutions
Velma is incredible! We are so lucky we found her.
Velma is great! She is very professional, thoughtful and insightful. She’s wise and has a great sense of humour. I highly recommend her.
Velma was so incredibly helpful to my wife and I during a difficult time in our marriage. We will carry her advice and tools with us always!
We live Velma her professionalism and knowledge with her no “bs” reinforcement is a great way to keep moving forward.
Excellent and great
Velma is such a blessing to our family and is helping us work through things as a couple. She is a wealth of knowledge and has a tough love approach. She knows how to put things into perspective for us in a way that we learn to understand each other better than we ever could have on our own. We're so glad we were placed with her. We feel more positivity, hope and love in our relationship after every session. We were initially skeptical on how a phone counseling session would go but our fears quickly disappeared after the first session because Velma instantly made us feel comfortable! It was like we've known her for years. Now we book our next appointment immediately after we finish our sessions and can't wait till our next session. Can't say enough positive things about her! She's absolutely wonderful!
Velma was very helpful at providing direction in a moment of confusion. She’s very knowledgeable, patient with us and her recommendations are very helpful. Thank you Velma!
I enjoyed working with Velma very much. She was genuinely interested in me and my success. She was a nice balance of loving concern mixed with firmness... it was as if I was speaking with a trusted and wise Aunt.
Velma changed our life forever. I recommend her for an international couple. My mother language is Japanese and my wife is American. Even though my English is not so good she tried to understand what I was saying and respects my culture and provided us best solutions all the time. Thank you again Velma. Love and Respect
Velma is very analytical and keeps it real. She's thoughtful in her approach to understanding the situation and coming up with tasks that make the couple feel engaged.
Velma is an exceptional therapist. She never seems to take a side, and yet she offers strong convictions to both of us concerning our behavior. Her attitude is refreshing and her expertise is apparent.
My partner and I thought we would try just one session or two. We have now booked our 3rd and would like to continue working with Velma for some time to come.
Velma Jones gave great advice.
Although we have been working with Velma for less than a month, she has already helped us tremendously. Positivity should be her middle name because it reflects her infectious attitude and determination to provide ongoing support. Thanks Velma!
She is wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable. Provides an expert insight.
Velma responds quickly and totally understands what I am going through.
Velma is a honest, straight up person who will not sugar coat things and tell you like it is. This in itself is therapeutic as you are shown the mirror as she sees it. Quick on her feet she has helped me through issues like addiction, anxiety and lately depression. I would recommend her to anyone facing issues in their life.
Velma listens to both sides and gives honest opinions whether we want to hear it or not
Velma is truly amazing. She responded to my concern very promptly and she is so understanding and very easy to talk to. I feel great and comfortable to talk to her about my problem. Highly recommended!
Ms. Jones is the best. She's patient, understanding, helpful, and easy to talk to. She responds back to you within the hour, several times a day. I highly recommend her.
