My name is Traci Ferris and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I obtained a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University in 2008 and received my full license in 2010. I utilize a narrative and strength-based approach to working with individuals and couples or families, examining each person's unique perspective of the problem situation and how it impacts their lives as well as the family unit as a whole. Through questioning, processing and dialogue I work with my clients to deconstruct a narrative that may be constricted by socially constructed values/beliefs that do not take into account the unique qualities and truths that each of us hold as we move through life and learn about ourselves and how we fit into society. Through this dialogue I guide my clients into a framework and narrative that takes into account each individual's and family's strengths. My treatment focus areas are trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, bipolar, couples/family counseling with a focus on military families, and issues around sex and sexuality.
