About me
Hi! I'm Tamara and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 30 years. I have had a wonderfully varied career working with people of all ages and with all types of issues.
The first thing to know about me is that I believe in change. I facilitate it, I see it everyday, and I myself experience it. When we are struggling to find our way, it is often hard to remember that change is a constant - it is the one thing we can count on! The tricky thing about change is that it can be very scary - we as humans like to know what is going to happen and how we can prepare for it! Life often just doesn't give a heads up - so each of us need to have the skills within to cope, and thrive, when change arrives. Counseling with me helps discover and strengthen those skills - all within a supportive and caring therapeutic relationship!
Being in a relationship is being constantly exposed to change - which can be stressful and scary! I believe the best approach to couples work is to help facilitate open and honest communication about individual needs. Relationships are a bit of a negotiation - but with our hearts on the line. I ensure that both individuals in a couple feel supported, heard, and validated.
Because people are different, I have a variety of treatment options in my counseling practice that is tailored to specific needs. I have training in Client Centered Therapy, Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma and Motivational Interviewing to name just a few. At the base of all these theories is the relationship between the therapist and the client. This relationship is paramount to successful outcomes.
I love my work, I love helping people change and feel better, and most importantly, I love connecting with clients. Hope we work together soon!
Tamara

Tamara has been essential and incredible in helping us prepare for a second baby, we appreciate her so much!
My wife and I love Tamara! She is so funny, helpful, and understanding. She always has a fresh point of view for us and is so empathetic and encouraging. Highly recommended!
I felt a great connection and comfort with Tamara within minutes, and look forward to our sessions. I feel that she is genuinely interested in my situation and keen to help. She brings fresh and insightful perspective, along with tools and tactics that I was able to use right away to feel better and take incremental steps toward healing. I would definitely seek her out to help work through future challenges.
Tamara helped us through a very difficult time in our relationship. We felt she was always in our corner, always having our needs as a couple paramount. She was wise, witty and smart - our marriage is stronger than ever now, and that's in big part thanks to her work with us. Thanks Tamara.
Tamara is amazing. She makes it so easy to talk to her and gives her honest opinion. I wouldn't want another therapist!
