About me
Hello! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia with 17 years of experience. My career began in mental health hospitals, where I worked with children and young adults facing severe trauma. Later, I transitioned into a role as a Care Manager for managed care companies, and eventually, I founded My Caring Counseling, a private practice designed to provide a supportive and creative space where clients feel safe and heard on their journey to healing.
My expertise primarily focuses on clients struggling with depression, anxiety, life stressors, major life transitions, the challenges of a midlife crisis, self-esteem, interpersonal conflicts, and couples therapy.
I approach therapy through a person-centered lens, tailoring my methods to fit each client’s unique needs. I integrate various techniques, including solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, and movement therapy. This holistic approach aims to enhance your cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being. My therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, and attentive, and I’m here to listen closely and help you find the path that works best for you.
As a therapist from a diverse cultural background, I am deeply committed to offering inclusive care to individuals from all walks of life, including young adults, older adults, and couples. I have completed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training to ensure that my approach is respectful and responsive to the unique needs of every client. I believe in the power of self-healing and in your ability to create meaningful change in your life, and I’m excited to walk alongside you as you navigate this process.
I'm honored to be part of your journey and look forward to supporting you as we work together toward your goals.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Shirnel Alleyne-Grant. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
She is very helpful. She provides clarity for how me and my partner feels and gives us questions and homework that make us really think and ultimately brings us closer
very attentive, takes both parties into consideration. very respectful
great
Shirnel Alleyne-Grant has been extremely helpful for my wife and myself.
Shirnel has been excellent the few times we’ve seen her! I love that I always walk away feeling like both of us were validated and closer to each other.
Shirnel has been a HUGE help for myself and my spouse in this transition of separation for our child. She’s helped us communicate so well with one another, helps us see things from a different & eye opening perspective, and has really made a difference in our lives that I recommend her to my friends who are looking for a therapist. Thank you so much for all that you’ve done!
Shirnell has been amazing. She listens to both of us and makes us feel understood. She also shares personal insight that makes us reflect and connect. We love working with her!
Great therapist
We have found Shirnel to be an excellent therapist, generally because of her she is equipped with tools to navigate communication issues but also because her warm and inviting spirit. She is extremely intuitive and able to breakdown each party’s perspective in a way that is thought provoking without being offensive. In terms of connection, relatability and understanding, she is a perfect match for BIPOC heterosexual couples with Caribbean backgrounds though I am positive she would make a great therapist to anyone. We look forward to therapy each week and her wisdom and listening ear has truly been a game changing gift to our relationship. Cannot thank her enough.
THanks!
Shirnel has given me confidence in the power of therapy. She really listens and gets to the crux of the problem very quickly and relays it back to us as a couple in a way we can digest.
Really good!
Shirnel is a great listener and very attentive!
