Hello. I am glad you are here at Regain! My name is Sharla Macy and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Boulder, Colorado since 1993. I specialize in relationships in all stages from dating, pre-marital or commitment, quarter and mid-life, retirement aged to help you create greater joy, connection, and confidence in increasing relationships that thrive. I work hard on sharing resources and focus on building intimacy, appreciation, communication, and vision to create lives that reflect strengths, purpose, and passion. I also work with families through all stages from bringing baby home to issues of aging and generational challenges.
In addition, I work with business relationships, especially family-owned businesses. I believe the tools and resources are similar in building empathy, understanding, connection, communication, and an ability to overcome challenges for optimal growth.
I have an engaging, direct and coaching style yet can assist you in overcoming habits and obstacles. I believe the best relationships are built on all parties leading from their best selves and self-leadership. I work with the Gottman Method, as well as many rich resources to assist us in our work together. On a personal level, I grew up in a family owned business, have been married for over 30 years with two married children and two beautiful grandchildren. I love to hike, attend concerts and cultural life and pups.
I look forward to having the pleasure of working with you.

Sharla is wonderful, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She was a huge help to me individually, and to my partner and I as we navigated a rocky relationship period. Sharla is warm, encouraging, empathetic, intelligent, and action-orientated. Her work using the Gottman methodology for romantic relationships is particularly wonderful. 10/10 highly recommend Sharla.
