Hello! My name is Shakesta Ellis and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Metro Atlanta area. I have over 15 year of experience working with clients. I work with individuals with a wide range of concerns including depression, mood disorders, family relations issues, trauma and abuse, parenting concerns, PTSD, life transitions and anxiety.
As a therapist, I utilize an holistic/integrative approach based on your needs, goals, and motivation, such as, cognitive-behavioral, brief therapy, mindfulness, client-centered, solution-focused therapy. I would be a good match for anyone interested in a counselor of color and looking for someone with a spiritual connection.
Life can be overwhelming and challenging at times and getting help to move through those challenges is my goal. I want to provide you with practical solutions and tools you can apply in all aspects of your life. As my client, we will begin services where you are, while assisting you in identifying healthy solutions to your problems. It is my belief that most people have the ability to grow and build on their own strengths; however, at times, need empowerment and encouragement. Therapy is a collaborative process and I will assist you to learn, grow, and make positive changes that can result in a more fulfilling life.

Shakesta is a wonderful counselor. She is thoughtful and attentive. She pays close attention to what you say and develops questions as a result. She is very kind and I always feel better after talking with her. She acts as a partner, offering to help you think through things and offers activities for you to do on your own to continue the work.
