I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been providing counseling to families and individuals in California for nine years. I bring a vast amount of lived experience and have worked in private practice, schools, and the local crisis unit. My approach is based on my belief that we all have our own answers to every situation in life, but we are sometimes cut off from this wisdom by conditioned thinking or trauma. I follow the Harville Hendricks approach to couples counseling. The underlying idea is that we couple with each other because we have found a partner who will assist us to resolve our deepest personal issues. Indeed, in relationship with one another is the perfect engine for personal growth and transformation.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, ACT, Client Centered, and Psychodynamic approaches. These modalities are employed in an empathic, non-judgmental, and compassionate style. Some of our greatest gifts can be found in our deepest suffering.
My experience in a crisis unit has allowed me to witness, and work with, people and families in the profoundest grip of serious mental illness. This experience has taught me how to go as deeply as my clients desire, safely, and without judgement.
Simply seeking help is a healing action. I look forward to assisting you on your journey to a better life.
