My name is Rene Stockton (pronounced Reni). I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois. It is my honor and pleasure to serve our community as a counselor/therapist and change agent. I have had the privilege to work with individuals and families from primarily underserved populations and communities over the course of a three-decade social work practice in two great American States.
I have encountered a range of adolescent and adult challenges ranging from mental health and trauma to writer’s block and wellness. I will partner with you to create the concrete change you are looking to achieve in your life.
My style is open, supportive and person centered, we will choose the approach for your situation using a variety of theories and concepts including art and movement.
Let's have a conversation about how to make lasting change in your journey. I will work with anyone with the courage it takes to ask for help.

In a time of crisis in our relationship, Rene helped guide us to getting back on track with our communication and understanding of what each of us needed to have a happy and healthy relationship. I highly recommend him to any couple who needs help getting back on each others side.
This has been an amazing experience that all couples should have the opportunity to do. Our level of communication has elevated and given us the opportunity to grow on this journey. I’m grateful and honored we get gleam from his wisdom.
I think Rene Stockton was a good choice to receive counseling from for my partner and I. As a person of color, I was able to feel understood and not feel judged for the habits I have. And he does a great job in explaining what is needed for a relationship.
Rene helped me figure out what my therapy goals were & then worked diligently to help me achieve them with respect and empathy. I highly recommend him for anyone needing couples therapy.
He great at identifying the issue and calling it out. He is easy to talk to and fair. Have had great sessions and many breakthroughs in a short amount of time.
