About me

Hello and Welcome, I am Dr. Phyl (Phyllis M-Watson, MS, PsyD). I am a psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor in Illinois and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, Arizona, and Ohio. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor with over 25 years of experience working with teens, adults, and seniors. I have been a subject matter expert featured on National Public Radio (NPR) and local cable news.

Working with diverse populations, my areas of research and clinical specialties are in family functioning, health, and wellness. I help clients and couples experiencing family related stress, relationship struggles, parenting challenges, communication barriers, and life challenges. The focus is on relational development while helping couples to understand each other and reconnect in healthy and productive ways. The goal is to live life in balance while connecting to what is most important; the relationship.

My clinical work has allowed me to serve clients in a variety of settings where I embrace strength based, solution focused interventions with a humanistic and narrative approach to helping couples learn new skills and coping strategies. Informing my therapeutic approach, I allow clients and couples to tell their story from their lived experience while creating action plans and goals for success. The therapeutic focus is on understanding perceptions, addressing obstacles, and setting goals for improving relationships and life experiences.

My goal is to help people find their individual and joint purposes while living with meaning. My clinical practice motto is Love YOUR Journey ~ Live YOUR Life.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Phyllis Mogielski-Watson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.

Written on Nov 24, 2022 after therapy with Phyllis for 2 weeks on issues concerning relationship

I have had counseling before and it’s mostly been productive. This time it’s a little different. My concerns about my life has changed and now it is about my desire to find a life partner without any codependency issues and then my issues with my children. I’m speaking of an incident that happened with my Son.
So far having 3 sessions Dr Phyls has been helpful as well as encouraging. She has some shown me areas of myself that have not been addressed before.
I’m hoping that I keep working on my issues and that Dr Phyls does exactly what she has been doing, guiding me in a direction that stays with me because I’m one who believes working on oneself is a life long process.

Work with me!
