About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. Being in this field for 30+ years has allowed me to work with many people with various issues affecting their lives. This history includes; counseling battered women, abused children, adolescents and adults regarding substance use, military Veterans/active duty soldiers and their family members, family and couple therapy, people diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness and early in my career people diagnosed with Developmental Disabilities. In Family Therapy my approach is mainly, although not limited to, Family Systems Therapy which explores each family members ideas and perceptions and allows the family to examine where any conflicts are existing, where they may stem from and how to bring the family system out of conflict and back into balance. My approach to therapy is eclectic, always respectful, kind and eternally optimistic that each of us has the ability to make changes and live the life we imagine. Everyone's story can have a happy ending.

Phyllis is my 1st Therapist and right at the bat, I felt welcomed and comfortable with her. She makes it so easy for me to share my thoughts and feelings and she never push her own beliefs on me, I feel truly free disclosing with her about my life and that she is genuinely concern about my well-being. She is also very light-hearted and seems to be always happy to see me <3 thank you Phyllis, for being with me right when I needed you the most!
