About me

Hello! My name is Pamela! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Virginia. I obtained both my Masters of Education and Education Specialist degrees in Clinical Counseling from the College of William and Mary after attending West Virginia University where I received my Bachelors in Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a Masters of Science in Community Health Education.

I am humbled to be part of your journey and I work to tailor an individual's needs and goals with evidence-based treatments. The most important aspect of counseling is the connection and comfort you feel with the person you choose to share your life story. Challenges are opportunities to learn about ourselves, to become more aware and to make changes. When we are living a situation, or experience we are often too close to make sense of it. Coming into counseling offers the perspective or additional support of an outside person to help one make movement over being stuck.

In working with couples I want to create an environment in which each person can be vulnerable and speak their truth. So much of relationship discord is related to one's needs not being met.

Counseling is an interactive process for me as a solution-focused practitioner. I strive to provide support and practical feedback to help clients learn about themselves and address the life challenges they are experiencing. I work with individuals to build on their strengths to affect change in their lives.

In terms of availability, I check and respond to messages at least twice daily, seven days a week. I offer live chat, phone sessions, and video sessions weekly often in the evening hours.

Whether you are looking for support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move your life in a better direction, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

It feels like I'm speaking to a close friend, Pamela presents a good balance of advice, listening and helping map out and understand and get clarity of the situation.
