I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Mexico for almost 18 years and am also licensed in Texas as well. I am also a Certified Life Coach for almost 6 years. I have experience working with individuals, families, couples, and doing groups. I have worked with many clients on various challenges they may have including: depression, anxiety, grief, coping with stress from life changes, family stressors, relationship concerns, parenting challenges, trauma (both recent and a history of trauma), abuse (recent and a history of abuse), and many other challenges that people face. I have also been a Family Therapist supervisor for 2 years and have experience working with families both in a clinical setting and in their own homes!
I hear many times from couples that they feel a therapist has taken the side of one person or another in therapy. My job is not to take sides, but to explore how both of you are communicating with each other, in what is being said and not said. No person is an island unto themselves. We live with people and its not always perfect, but we can improve how we communicate to each other. Sometimes we allow the fight to be more important than what we want to try and convey to our partners. We are human. We're not perfect and that's ok. Together we can explore what is communicated and what we want to communicate with your partner, if you allow me the opportunity.

Omar is a great counselor. He listened to our problems and provided great feedback. And gave us apace when we needed it.
After our first session with Omar, we felt like a huge burden was lifted off our shoulders. Finally we found someone who listened to us without bias and allowed each of us to feel safe and talk about our feelings and concern. Omar is patient and engaging and his probing questions reveal more than we anticipated. He also gave us tangible goals. Highly recommend.
