Welcome to Better Help counseling! I know you might feel nervous, but I want to Congratulate You for taking the first step towards your healing journey. Mental Health is a vital part of who we are and how we function in this unpredictable adventure we call life.
I have over 10 years experience working with clients who are seeking help with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, family conflict, relationship/marital issues, self worth, mood disorders, stress, abuse/neglect, paranoia, panic, parenting guidance, trauma and spiritual growth. I believe in order to live a healthy life, we need to focus, not only on our physical, but also our mental and spiritual health. I call them the three stands of life, just like a rope needs all three strands to be strong enough to weather anything. I have also worked with adults who have special needs, including autism and intellectual disability.
I would describe my approach as empathetic, goal oriented, and client centered. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing to help my clients set goals and objectives as they work through their struggles. I provide a warm and non-judgmental environment so we can work together to reach your goals.
I enjoy working with people helping them find their inner strength as they seek solutions and build their tool box full of coping strategies to manage life. We all need a tool box of strategies to help us navigate the struggles life brings. I believe wholeheartedly that everyone has their own strengths and gifts, we only need to open our minds and take the time to discover them. Let me help you on this journey to self discovery and self empowerment so you can reach a state of healing and peace.
A little about me. I graduated in 2002 with my Masters in Social Work from University of Chapel Hill in North Carolina, "Go Tar Heels"!!
I really loved living there with the beautiful seasons. I grew up in Miami, FL and currently live in a small town called Lake Wales, FL. Although, I miss the seasons, I am a Floridian at heart with the beaches, palm trees, southern live oaks and the luxury to access both gorgeous sunrises and sunsets!!
Everyone deserves to have someone they can share their thoughts and feelings, so let me be that person for you. I look forward to working with you on your healing journey.
