About me

Welcome to Better Help! Whether you are here for yourself or someone you care about - because you're curious about how this works or you already know you want to sign up - welcome! You've made the click so you've already made a step.

My name is Melinda Noel and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania but have enjoyed some schooling outside of my home state. I received my Bachelors degree in Foods and Nutrition from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. I then went on to obtain my Masters in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. I've worked in other's homes with reunification, in an office setting as a practice manager, as a counselor and as a clinical supervisor, to name a few. I have an extensive background in treating children and adults that have been through trauma. I have several certifications in trauma because I feel it is so universal. Most of us have dealt with something traumatic in our lives whether it be a car accident, the loss of a loved one, an attack, a divorce, etc. Unfortunately, many of us will experience numerous trauma's in our lives, and let's face it. Trauma is not an easy thing to overcome. Along with specializing in trauma treatment, I work with people struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship problems and adjustment to life transitions to name a few.

I believe that a person's view of the issues is most important. It is our job as counselors to then help people identify patterns in negative behaviors or additional issues that may be important in treatment, but you know you best. That means that whatever it is you feel is a problem, I will take it seriously and work towards improvement. I love the idea of a counselor being available whenever someone needs help the most - in the moment or as close to the moment as possible.

I'm excited to get started with you and am confident you will feel comfortable, supported and motivated throughout our time together. Let's get started!

Melinda is not only knowledgeable and skilled as a therapist, but she is empathetic and open minded. She listen and strives to understand before offering any advice. We lucked out with such a cool therapist!

My husband and I have been working with Melinda for the last 3 months and she has been such a perfect match for us. Despite her busy personal life she remembers our concerns and stories, which means that she really cares. I love how down to earth she is and how she listens so carefully and has amazing insight. She really has help me come closer and even appreciate my husband more and has guided me to find more clarity within and in my marriage. We're really grateful that we found such a funny, smart and empathetic therapist that we can also look up to! Happy campers :)

Melinda is absolutely fantastic. We have been so comfortable talking with her. She is on-point with our situation and she comes up with excellent suggestions to help us. I truly know she cares. I honestly wouldn't seek anyone else's help at this point because I feel that I have the perfect counselor.

Melinda is really great at what she does. She makes you feel comfortable talking about personal things and it does not feel like I am talking to a therapist, but that I am talking to a person who is genuinely trying to help. She offers new ideas and helps you think differently about certain situations. She challenges you to dig a little deeper and really listens and picks up on your concerns and find ways to work through them. Absolutely recommend her and have nothing but positive things to say about this whole experience.

Melinda has been a great asset in helping to rebuild, and strengthen our marriage. She helped us map out our problems with one another, and did her best to help us through them.

10 out of 10, we would recommend Melinda to anyone.
