About me

Being in a compassionate, long-term relationship with someone we love is fundamental to living happier, healthier, longer fulfilling lives. Maintaining a constructive connection with another unique individual throughout the ups and downs of life involves real work and the ability to connect effectively.
Communication is an essential part of a healthy partnership, allowing you to explain to someone else what you are experiencing and what your needs are. Although that may sound straightforward and simple, doing it is confoundingly difficult for a whole host of reasons. Everyone’s communication style contains unique strengths and challenges based on life experiences and genetic/biological vulnerabilities. When selecting specific intervention strategies, I look to harness innate strengths, assess for opportunities to educate, encourage, and reinforce a collaborative supportive learning intended to build an enduring relationship.
The first thing to know while trying to communicate better is that communication does not only mean speaking, it is a combination of speech, the willingness to listen, and the insight to interpret the message. Working together we will examine barriers to effective communication, highlighting compassion and a future focus with better understanding and insight Our intention would be to identify and explore maladaptive patterns that are interfering with a secure and stable connection, and pair them with realistic practical strategies to strengthen the supportive bond.
I work to assist individuals explore personal needs and obstacles to facilitate intimacy through constructive conversations. Although vulnerability and bravery are prerequisites to this process the benefits to members of loving and supportive relationships are immense, a willingness to seek out opportunities to improve is the first often times most difficult step. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you see my approach as an avenue to improve connection within your important relationships.

Therapist Meghan has been great so far! She listens and challenges and advances things, even when we cannot as a couple

Meghan has truly saved us! She’s an extremely fun person too - but it doesn’t take away from her skills or professionalism.
