About me

When life gets out of balance relationships can become difficult to manage. Sometimes patterns of communication become skewed and this new patterns feels overwhelming and impossible to change. Sometimes our own personal trauma or current life circumstances make it difficult to relate to each other in a healthy way.

When I work with couples or families I make it a priority to secure the therapeutic time as a safe space for all members so that each person is able to express what they feel the "problem" is and be heard. I might also schedule some time individually so each member of the relationship is able to speak freely to me in the beginning. Moving forward the focus will be on the relationship as a whole, not on individual members and what their "problem" might be. I'll introduce information and tools that help strengthen communication, address negative beliefs about the relationship and foster coming together again. Working on barriers in a relationship is difficult and vulnerable work, but a stronger and healthier relationship is so worth the momentary discomfort.

I am licensed in Texas with 4 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & coping with grief and loss in a variety of settings. I specialize in art therapy and approach counseling from a holistic perspective. I studied at Drexel University in Pennsylvania and St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana.

I look forward to learning more about you.
