About me
I have been helping clients with life concerns for over 34 years. I have broad experience helping clients across the lifespan make positive changes that enriched their lives. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, with LGBTQ+ related issues, with those struggling with family conflicts, relationships and marriage concerns. With couples I work to repair damaged trust, improve communication, and strengthen emotional intimacy. My first professional work was with preschool children, followed by years as an elementary school teacher, then as a clinical social worker in psychiatric hospitals. After receiving my PhD., I worked for many years as a faculty member teaching others to practice skillfully and ethically. My published writing focuses on becoming more skillful as a clinical practitioner with individuals, families, and groups. I have supervised many interns who became licensed and eventually seasoned clinicians themselves. Deciding to seek help is a courageous act but one that usually leads to more satisfying and fulfilling lives.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Mark Smith. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Excellent therapist. Greatly appreciate his training and life experience.
My husband and I started therapy following a loss and to help us through our grief. Admittedly, we spoke with several people before talking with Mark and, after our first session we knew we would stick with him. Mark is kind and relaxed but, thoughtful in his approach. Mark has helped each one of us as individuals, and as a couple, to move through our grief, understand it, and learn how to move forward with it together. I am personally in a much better place in part because of Mark. I know my relationship with my husband will continue to grow as a result of it and, we look forward to continuing our fertility journey and marriage counseling with Mark.
Mark is very well trained/educated, very understanding, very effective
