About me

Hello, I’m Louise, a UK-based accredited member of the NCPS and a registered member of the BACP.

As an empathic, down-to-earth Integrative Counsellor, I bring a unique blend of creativity and compassion to my work, specializing in couples therapy, trauma, anxiety, alcohol addiction, ADHD, sexual abuse, self-esteem, and complex PTSD. I know firsthand how relationship challenges, communication problems, misunderstanding, not feeling heard, emotional disconnection, or past trauma can create distance between partners, but I believe that with the right support, healing and reconnection are always possible.

I am trained in the Gottman Method and relational couples counselling, which allows me to offer both practical, research-based tools and a deeper, more emotional exploration of your relationship. The Gottman Method focuses on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and enhancing intimacy, while relational couples counselling helps uncover deeper patterns that may be contributing to conflict or disconnection.

What sets me apart is my creative approach to counselling. I understand that sometimes words alone aren’t enough to express what you’re feeling, so as well as traditional talking therapy, I can also use creative techniques when appropriate—whether it’s storytelling, art, or other innovative methods—to help you and your partner connect on a deeper level. This approach helps unlock emotions that might otherwise remain unspoken, allowing for a more meaningful and lasting transformation in your relationship.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where both partners feel heard, respected, and validated. My style is collaborative and tailored to your needs. Whether you're navigating trust issues, communication breakdowns, or emotional wounds, we’ll work together to rebuild your relationship in a way that feels true to both of you.

Experience and Qualifications

In addition to my training in the Gottman Method and relational couples counselling, I’m a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor with a degree in counselling and a Level 4 CPCAB diploma in integrative counselling. My extensive trauma training, coupled with my private practice and work at a sexual abuse charity, gives me deep insight into the emotional and psychological factors that can impact relationships. With lived experience and a creative, grounded approach, I’m here to provide empathetic, practical, and effective support.

How I Can Help

If you’re experiencing communication breakdowns, trust issues, or a growing emotional distance, I can help you find ways to reconnect. My unique blend of the Gottman Method, relational couples counselling, and creative interventions provides a comprehensive path to healing. Together, we’ll create new ways of communicating, understanding each other’s needs, and nurturing a stronger, healthier relationship.

Let’s take this journey together towards the relationship you both deserve.

Louise is a great creative therapist. She has been providing great support to both me and my partner and helps us understand each other better by identifying our own triggers. She is also very straighforward which I think makes the work more effective.
