About me

As a little girl, I always wanted to help people. As I grew up, that desire became even stronger until I decided a career in mental health was the best way to fulfill that desire. That desire was further cemented when I became a Christian and saw how people were hurting. Throughout life's circumstances, I developed a passion for marriages and families although I do see clients on an individual basis. I view every client as unique and will treat each client as such. My personal belief is that counseling should be a safe and productive place to share, and I make every attempt to make every effort to make each client feel that way.
My degree is in marriage, couples and family counseling, but I have experience in trauma and substance abuse. I do marriage counseling, premarital counseling and divorce care.
You should never feel ashamed to get therapy. Life can sometimes throw curveballs that require you to seek assistance; let me be there for you. I want to see you overcome your issues and find peace in your freedom. If you have gotten this far, you are one step closer to making a decision that will impact your life for the better.
I am licensed in North Carolina and Arizona with licenses pending in other states.

I chose Dr. Speed because of her experience and prestigious credentials. And finding a Dr in the mental health field who looks like me can be difficult. She is impartial during couples therapy and listens well. I feel very safe and confident with her.
