About me

Hello! My name is Laura Lininger, LCSW. I attended Indiana University and got my BA in Psychology and then moved on to Tulane University in NOLA for my Masters in Social Work. I have worked for many years doing child and adolescent therapy and then later added working with adults to the services I provide. I believe my child and adolescent therapy background has been a great foundation for working with adults individually and in couples therapy. Family of origin issues and early relationship experiences can have a profound impact on our most important adult relationships. I work with couples to help them examine how these early experiences may be playing out in their relationship and how they can respond to their partner in a helpful and compassionate manner.

As for treatment approaches, I use Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR. I also include a lot of mindfulness practice in my work with clients. I am proud to provide a safe environment for all races, genders, religions, and clients from the LGBTQ community.

Laura has done a great job with helping my spouse and I work through our issues. We came in with concerns for one thing and she’s helped us with many other things. She’s helped us with a lot but the thing that has improved the most is our conversations and arguments. If we have a disagreement, it’s a healthy conversation with no arguments. We feel like we’re in the honeymoon stage of our marriage again. We could not be more thankful for her and everything she’s helped us with!

My partner and I have had a few sessions with Laura and have been pleased with her attentiveness to each of our individual narratives. She offers validation and effective advice concerning the reasons we've sought couple's counseling. We're grateful for her perspective and professionalism which translates her genuine virtue during our video sessions.
