My work with couples is focused on finding ways to move beyond outmoded strategies for getting needs met in relationships and finding clear and compassionate communication that ends cycles of blame, criticism and guesswork. It is important for couples to feel heard, felt and validated. I observe recurring patterns and dynamics as opposed to personal deficits and strive to create an environment where both partners feel supported without judgement. I use Psychodynamic approaches to helping couples gain insight into how their past is impacting present relationships and support couples in cultivating empathy and understanding towards their partner.
