About me

There are three components in any relationship: each of the two persons, as well as the makeup of the combination of the two of you. I call that "us-ness." I believe it is important to speak but also feel and be heard by your partner. This is expressive and receptive language. We can gain control of a healthy style of communication by practicing a few simple techniques. Once"us-ness" reaches a certain level of health, it begins to create its own engine and begins to power forward in a more stable and respectful manner.

My interactive style is very down-to-earth, infused with sincere and deep compassion. My therapeutic style could be described as eclectic because I will tailor my approach to your needs. I pull strategies from cognitive restructuring, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, rational-emotive, and reality therapies.

My original LPC license allows couples work; however, two years after I earned that licensure, I earned another optional specialty license, that of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Family and Marriage Counselor with over 28 years of experience in psychotherapy. I hold licenses in both Virginia and in North Carolina. I fully understand and empathize with the difficulty most clients experience in making that first phone call, and will do my best to help you feel comfortable and relaxed. I will be with you every step of the way towards your healing process and am looking forward to meeting you!

She has been awesome

Linda blew me and my partner away the first session we had with her when we began couples therapy. She has an understanding of people that can really only come from the number of years she has been in this profession and her amount of training really shows. She is magic. She balances tough love with understanding and compassion when necessary and never makes my partner or I feel unfairly treated. I would and will recommend her to anyone I know and I'm truly so thankful we were matched with her.

She's awesome! She's very knowledgeable but personable and that's appreciated. She's really good at creating a "safe space" to talk!

Work with me!
