Kimberly Williams

About Me

Hi. My Name is Kim Williams and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience working with adults, couples and families. I am dual licensed in Virginia and Texas in addition to being National Board Certified. I have my MS in Counseling, BS in Human Development and my Associate in Logotherapy from the Viktor Frankl Institute. Issues that I have worked with include depression, anxiety, family conflict, parenting, relationship issues, school issues, bipolar, PTSD, divorce, LBGTQ and co-parenting. Treatment approaches I have used include CBT, Logotherapy, Reality therapy, Rogers' Humanistic and Mindfulness.

I approach my couples with empathy, warmth and understanding that reaching out to a counselor can be a difficult first step. I see my couples as the unique people they are and understand there is not one path to a healthier relationship. I understand that a relationship can take on many forms and is not just a traditional marriage. There can be many different dynamics, perspectives and concerns that brought you to this point. Being a couple means more than one and each person who is part of this relationship has ideas, feelings, opinions and hopes for the future. I see us as an extended partnership. We will work together through the issues that brought you here and towards a manageable plan to make changes. Together we can develop goals, strengthen the abilities you already have and move towards living the life you want. We can develop a better understanding of your choices, what control you have within them and the impact this has in your lives. Your empowerment to make the changes you want is within you and I am here to support you on this journey. I look forward to speaking with you and starting this new experience.
