About me
Hi, I am a licensed clinical social worker.
An area of interest for me is couple communication and marital health. Couples improve their talking by learning new skills. I teach a balanced form of communication.
I had a private Christian based counseling practice for 13 ½ years. So many times, couples eagerly started counseling hoping to make things better, then ended up arguing and fighting in the counselor’s office. I learned that couples need new skills in their willingness to work together. The average couple counseling lasts about 12 sessions or three months. I frequently ask for feedback on how our counseling sessions are. What can be improved?
After retiring in 2006, my wife and I traveled and spent more time with family. In 2013, I returned to couple counseling. I completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. My wife and I taught John Gottman’s book, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work.
Early in my career, I trained in family systems theory, and attended two workshops led by the late family therapist, Virginia Satir.
My goal is to help you improve your relationship. You can do it!
Work Experience
Child welfare, counseling teenagers in residential treatment, working as a supervisor then family counselor in corrections (women’s treatment center), counseling in a Christian-based private practice, mental health outreach for the elderly, medical social work including ER support, dialysis social work; and, in retirement couples’ classes and counseling. I've enjoyed the variety of people seeking assistance at Better Help.

Ken was great. He brings years of experience and a big heart to the table
So thankful for Ken, we have been seeing him for years now and he is wonderful and wise.
Ken was a very kind, supportive, and thoughtful therapist throughout the 9 months that my husband and I worked with him. He helped us come together and support one another after many hardships and losses. Our marriage is stronger for it. We thank Ken for all of his diligent work and his ability to reconnect us with the Lord, as well. I would highlight recommend Ken's support to any couple seeking guidance through a challenging time.
He helped us to overcome our challenges, difficulties, and he taught us how to properly communicate with each other. Our marriage improved so much in such a short time. We continue to keep working on our marriage. Thank you again!
