About Me

These can be troubling, lonely times. The strain on one's relationships either due to not finding the space we need for ourselves or not being able to spend time with our loved ones. There are so many things to worry about and these worries can be stressful on relationships. Please contact me for help. I have been trained in Traumatic Incident Reduction, an evidence based method of reducing symptoms due to trauma or PTSD. I have in depth training in psychodynamic psychotherapy which helps get to the root of what may be causing symptoms of depression, anxiety and repeated relationship issues.
I graduated from Columbia University School of Social Work in 1996. It has repeatedly been rated the #1 best school in the country for the masters degree in social work. I have worked with many couples to sort out where things seem to have gone wrong and how to make things better. Having a third person present during couples counseling can really change the dynamics of the relationship. It break up the feelings of being trapped in the same old arguments and feeling frustrated and unable to move forward. A trained professional to help you work through your relationship issues can be life changing.

Reviews

Written by L.U. on Feb 22, 2021 after counseling with Kathryn (Kathy) for 3 weeks on issues concerning relationship

Kathy has been great with my partner and I, she listens to us, explains why we feel a certain way and helps us figure out how we can deal with it. Thank you for helping us make our relationship better than before.
