About me
Hi, my name is Jody (Joseph) Frey and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in CO and MN. Thanks for reaching out and for wanting to learn more about me. I have been serving people for over 25 years in a variety of settings: military, business, and therapy. For the last eight years, I have been focusing on helping people resolve their trauma. I am EMDR trained as well as being a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) to better serve those struggling with deep hurts or wounds from the past. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point in Human Factor’s Engineering and a Master’s Degree from Argosy University in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Couples present a unique dynamic in terms of counseling. I love getting to know each person and how they operate as a couple. In many situations, the couple is challenged by unseen emotional factors that are hampering their ability to thrive together. My focus in couple’s therapy is to uncover and resolve those unseen issues. We then work to rebuild or improve the couple’s relationship.
My therapy style has been developed from six years active duty as an Army Officer, 10 years in corporate leadership, 15 years running my own successful business, and seven years as a therapist helping others. My clients often enjoy my challenging and focused style and find comfort as we draw out their inner dialogue which is negatively impacting their current emotional state.
Outside of therapy, I love techie stuff and enjoy sports, working out, and playing video games.

After years of being in therapy, Joseph is one of the best therapists I've worked with. What I really think is great about him is that he helps you find solutions and he shares his knowledge about what is appropriate/inappropriate behaviors both on an individual and relationship level. He is not the type of therapist to bounce questions back on the individual asking "What do you think?" I've been with many therapists that do that and it gets frustrating as the reason I'm in therapy is I don't know what to think/how to resolve and get better on my own. Joseph is patient, direct, knowledgeable and fair-I really appreciate everything he's done to help my family during some difficult times.
