About Me

Hello! My name is Joseph, and I am a licensed Independent Clinical Therapist with over six years of experience providing therapy services. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work Practice. My practice experience cuts across a wide range of therapeutic settings, including Inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, outpatient, intensive programs, residential treatment programs, and running a private group practice. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and stress.
I am eclectic in my clinical approach in treating emotional and behavioral difficulties. My clinical practice is Client-Centered and Integrative. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I draw from various therapeutic theories and techniques such as cognitive, humanistic, experiential, solution-focused, psycho-educational, and motivational interviewing.
Life transitions and relationship stressors cause us to re-examine our present sense of being. Overwhelming emotions, thoughts, and feelings can get the best of us. We get lost in our thoughts, creating feelings of resentment, anxiety, depression, and overall defeat. This cyclic thought process impacts the quality of our lives and overflows into other meaningful relationships we care about, such as our spouses, friends, family, co-workers, and children. My role in this therapeutic relationship is to help you reach your true potential by discovering a sense of acceptance, contentment, and freedom from issues that have previously kept you stagnant and unfulfilled in life. I will do my best to make your therapy experience personable, comfortable, and supportive. I recognize that the idea of therapy can be somewhat overwhelming, and I commend you for the courage to reach out. The change you seek is a journey, and I will like to join you on your way to happiness. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support you.
I look forward to working with you!

We came into couples counseling with a goal of turning around issues to continue to build our relationship into the right path. I had doubts and was scared as I had never went through any sort of counseling. Joseph was personal and direct in the right way that instantly made me comfortable and easy to speak from my heart. Joseph was very professional and did not sugar coat anything to us. His sessions were helpful and eye opening for myself and for our relationship. Things have turned around and I am very thankful for Joseph’s words and being able to learn from his sessions. -Blake

Joseph was incredible and has mastered his talents in counseling. He differentiates himself from most counselors by grasping our needs and points of view and forming them into actionable steps. He hears both sides but remains unbiased and harmonious. He is truly a treasure. -Lauren
