About me

I graduated from Alabama State University in 2011 with my MS in Clinical Mental health counseling. I have done a vast amount of work in all treatment modalities as well as various populations. Primarily I have worked with families, in the community, crisis and trauma centered work, as well as substance use and severe mental health illness. My drive in this field is to help couples who are struggling to mentally get to a place of peace and be that ear that can help one process and sort out whatever struggles they may be facing where accessing family and friends is not an option. My most sought out modes of counseling that I find most effective are solution focused, Cognitive behavior, Motivational interviewing , and person centered. These modalities are typically centered around allowing my client to be heard, as well as creating a space of open dialogue for me to learn more about you, and find root causes of presenting problem and begin to explore ways to help either shift the dynamic or shift the though process of the situation to assist in making life fuller, manageable and peaceful. Often times using personal support systems to process problematic issues in your marriage isn't the safest route and often times can be more problematic, I enjoy being that agent of change for couples to come before each other in a space to find out what's not working, where the disconnect is and exploring how to bring to people back in sync with one another

Johne has been really amazing, especially at making us feel welcome and understood. She’s great at giving us feedback when we clearly need it and she’s extremely insightful. I’m very glad to have been paired with her and I believe without her my relationship would not have made it.

Johne saved us. Pure and simple. We had to overcome insurmountable odds and with her help we did. I cannot recommend her enough. We faced infidelity, addiction, mental illness the works! While we “did the work” we couldn’t have done it without her. I am thankful and will sing her praises till death do we part.

Johne is absolutely fantastic so far after one appointment.

She's patient, thoughtful, pushes back to frame the conversation in an even and graceful way. She kept circling back to check in with each of us after each point.

She made clear her expectations of us, and asked us what our expectations of her were straight away.

I'm grateful we've connected with Johne.

Work with me!
