About me
Hello there! I am licensed in California with 15 years of professional work experience with teens, adults and couples. I have experience in helping clients with stress, life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My therapeutic approach is built on trust within the relationship we create along with a little humor. I mostly utilize the modality of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with family systems, communication skills work and mindfulness practices. It takes courage to share vulnerabilities and seek out a more fulfilling and happier relationship. I commend you and your significant other for taking this step toward supporting yourself, each other, and your relationship.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for John Aaron Foster. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
I honestly don’t even know where to begin when it comes to John Aaron Foster. My husband and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found him.
John has an amazing amount of patience, compassion, understanding, and insight. He has a way of creating a space where both of us feel heard and understood, even during the difficult conversations. He doesn’t take sides, he doesn’t judge, and he somehow knows when to push us a little deeper and when we just need a little grace.
Couples therapy can bring up some really hard, uncomfortable, and emotional things, and John has helped us navigate those moments with so much care. He has helped us understand each other better, communicate differently, look at our own individual parts in things, and work through issues that sometimes felt completely overwhelming.
What I appreciate most is that he genuinely seems invested in helping us—not just getting us through an appointment, but helping us build something healthier and stronger outside of that room. He remembers the little things, he listens, and he has an incredible ability to take something that feels complicated and help us see it from a completely different perspective.
There have been times when I have walked into a session frustrated, hurt, angry, confused, or feeling like I didn’t even know what to say, and somehow I leave with a better understanding of myself, my husband, and what we need to work on together.
I can honestly say I don’t know where my husband and I would be today if we hadn’t found Aarron, He has helped us through some incredibly difficult chapters in our relationship, and he continues to help us grow, reconnect, and understand each other in ways we weren’t always able to do on our own.
Marriage and relationships take work, and having the right person helping guide you through that work can make all the difference. For us, John has absolutely been that person.
We are beyond grateful for his patience, his honesty, his kindness, his sense of humor, and especially his ability to meet us exactly where we are while still challenging us to keep moving forward.
I cannot recommend John Aaron Foster highly enough. If you are looking for a couples therapist who genuinely listens, cares, understands relationship dynamics, and makes you feel safe enough to do the hard work, he is truly someone special.
Aarron , thank you for everything you have already done for us and for continuing to walk beside us as we work on becoming better partners to each other. It means more than you probably realize.

Aaron is insightful and wise. He listens and suggests options and skillsets. However, what he really does is to insert pretty amazing observations into the session, which tend to change the scope of the dialogue.
