About me

I am licensed in Wisconsin with 20 years of professional therapy experience . I have years of experience in helping clients with couples therapy, infidelity, communication issues, stress and anxiety, trauma, abuse, parenting issues, & career difficulties. I work with couples to repair trust, improve communication, and strengthen their emotional intimacy with each other. My couples and I cover all major domains that tend to be of some concern in relationship (money, house chores, parenting, communication, intimacy, (Emotional, physical, and sexual), life goals, career issues, not feeling heard or validated. While I am all the things I believe a "good" therapist should be (empathetic, good listener, validate, etc), I do think my style is DIRECT, I will challenge you, I believe that my clients came to me because they needed help to facilitate CHANGE, and in order to do that in my opinion, we have to be 100% honest with each other, I will need to push some emotional button, to help get insight and self awareness, because without that we often can't facilitate change.... we can't change what we don't know or understand. I believe change is possible, I believe it can be empowering and freeing all at the time..... the question isn't can I change, or is change possible, the question is are you READY to change, and if your ready, I'm ready to help you and your partner on that journey, your relationship can be different, we can start with a new foundation, and as Gottman stated "have a sound relationship house" but we need a good foundation, with sturdy walls, so when bad weather comes our house can be more resilient to weather systems, and we will work together to see WHY it is so critical to MAINTAIN POSITIVITY within the relationship, we will work together to tare down the resentment. blank slate the "past" and focus on rebuilding. it's a commitment, it takes time, it does take some maintenance work, and a willingness to keep the relationship as a priority, to practice what we learn in therapy, and we will work together to try to better understand our partners "messages", work to realize that there is more then ONE right way to think or do things, and to remember that above all else, you love each other, and why remembering that our partners often have good intentions, and that giving each other then benefit of the doubt is very important. Does any of this sound like your relationship? If you feel stuck, angry, resentful, and that you and your partner struggle with communication, trust me your not alone, and we can make a difference together, as a team, your relationship doesn't have to be a NEGATIVE, we can work to flip it back to the POSITIVE where it belongs, if your reading this prior to signing up, whether you work with me or another couples therapist, the important thing is to sign up now... if your looking for a couples therapist you likely need it for one reason or another, often couples find themselves far down resentful river before they come to therapy, and often they tell me "we wish we would have done this years ago", so get in front of it, don't wait until so negative overrides the positive. I often tell my clients, think of coming to couples therapy like an annual medical appointment, we go annually to see our Dr. so that we can "prevent" small problems, from beginning big problems, I suggest every couple comes in for an annual check up, to help maintain and sustain the relationship. Your relationship can be solid as a rock, but it is should also be treated as fragile as a garden!!! I hope to see you soon!

Jessica is awesome to work with. She has been able to figure out our personalities very quickly and stays neutral between partners. This is my husband’s first time working with a therapist and for him to also like her and feel understood makes this whole process beneficial for the both of us!
