About me

Relationships are challenging! Whether you are beginning a new relationship or have been together many years, it is inevitable issues develop in every couple. It's not coincidental we end up with the partners we do. The challenge is understanding the interplay between you and your significant other and each of your interpersonal complexities. My practice focuses on helping couples identify the issues causing distress to the relationship and developing a plan on how to move forward in a healthy loving way which supports both partners in their happiness. Often, the sexual wellness of the relationship is also in distress. Sex and intimacy are at the core of human experience. When things are going well, sex may feel easy and natural but when challenges arise it may feel strained and may become a source of pain and frustration. I am also able to help with a variety of sexual concerns such as: communication problems, infidelity, delayed ejaculation, low desire, erectile difficulties, fetishes, gender identity, gay/lesbian issues, orgasm difficulties, painful intercourse, premature ejaculation, religious sexual mores, and sex addiction or out of control sexual behavior. The sexual wellness of the relationship is often the barometer for the overall health of the couple. A more fulfilling sex life can lead to greater overall satisfaction with relationships and life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in Utah and have been in the field of social work for 29 years. I have two undergraduate degrees from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT, and a Master's in Social Work Degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA. I have lived all over the United States which has provided me the opportunity to work with a variety of populations.

The approach I use for working with a client(s) is tailored to each individual's unique needs, and is often eclectic, meaning a combination of several therapies. My early training was based in the psychodynamic approach of Object Relations. As my focus changed to include couples in my practice, I now utilize a variety of treatment modalities, with the emphasis being on Attachment Based Therapy, Relational Life Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the PLISSIT Model for Sexual Counseling. I have come to deeply appreciate that no matter who the person, circumstance or diagnosis, it is empathy, compassion and equanimity that are the greatest gifts I carry into therapeutic relationships.

Jennifer is pragmatic and non bias. We’ve only had one session but I was impressed with her candor.

Work with me!
