About me
Over the last 18 years as a therapist, I have worked with couples in both community resource centers as well as private practice. Whether a couple is looking to meet for a limited number of sessions or a longer period of time, my role in working with couples is to help them work together in order to determine common goals for their relationship or marriage, even if they initially state they cannot agree on anything or have nothing in common. I assist the couple in learning and utilizing effective strategies to enhance intimacy, as focusing on enhancing intimacy is the starting point to working through relationship problems. My experience has included both court-ordered and voluntary couples counseling, and I make every effort to establish and maintain an effective therapeutic relationship with the couple by viewing the couple as the client. I interview each member of the couple separately to determine what their concerns are and then bring them together to begin development of goals for therapy that start with what the couple perceives as their most significant issue.
