About me

Hello, my name is Jeff Moffitt, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 20 years of experience working with couples and individuals with a wide variety of needs. Some of these include, but not limited to, overcoming infidelity, the dynamics of trust and fear, conflict and relationship resolution, intimacy and sexual issues, parenting styles, effective communication, career/educational challenges, financial difficulties, mediation, eliminating a perfect storm in a relationship, etc. I have worked extensively in California, Texas, Oklahoma, and with couples from various international settings and cultural backgrounds.

Most of my life and career have been focused on identifying factors contributing to relational discord and individual disconnects such as personal insecurities, the importance of independence vs co-dependence, dependence vs interdependence and healthy communication skills. I educate and teach individuals how to avoid and stay out of the “perfect storm” as they travel throughout life together.

My background, education, and experience have always been key elements in helping others. I’m highly encouraged when individuals seek help after recognizing there is a need and desire to do something about it. I'm passionate, driven, and confident in my abilities to help you live a happier and more fulfilled life. I maintain a high level of confidentiality and privacy which includes information that is shared with me on an individual basis.

My counseling style is warm, supportive, and engaging. I strongly believe in treating others with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach in therapy. I will adapt in a way that supports your individual and collective needs. The techniques I utilize will include some of the following: supportive and emotional focused therapy, narrative therapy, positive reinforcements, communication skills, relationship therapy, universal principles, etc. The techniques will attempt to combine behavioral and expressive components in relational counseling. We will explore the why behind certain actions. In working with couples, I don't try to bridge a gap that generally exists between a couple. The goal is to unify two people who have been divided by eternal forces resulting in a lot of pain and suffering. No matter what the future holds, we will strive to heal and avoid any further negative outcomes. My role will remain neutral as I encourage support and well-being for all parties involved. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet the specific needs that you have identified.

It takes a lot of courage to seek some assistance, and make the first steps towards change. If you are ready to embark upon a life-altering journey, I'm confident that I can help you with this most precious adventure.

I look forward to seeing you soon!
