About me

Hello! I'm Dr. Jane Barton and I'm a clinical psychologist licensed in the state of Tennessee. I received my doctorate and masters degrees from Oklahoma State University with special concentration in cognitive behavioral therapy and couples therapy. I have more than 20 years of experience working in the mental health field and have helped people with a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, phase of life issues, trauma, divorce, addictions and many others.

My role as your couples therapist is to empower you to change in a way that leads to a more meaningful, healthy and satisfying relationship. One of the most important aspects of a relationship is communication. My intent is to give you the communication tools that will enable to work on any current and future problems. It can be much easier to go through difficult times with someone who can coach you in behaviors that help, not harm your relationship. A guide and a partner in the process of change can be invaluable. I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy and in helping people overcome cognitive roadblocks to achieving their hopes and dreams. In working with couples, I often call upon the theories of Dr. John Gottman, a well-respected researcher in the field of relationships.

You've taken a big step in looking for help and I'd love to walk with you on this journey. It can be scary to grow and change, but to open a new chapter of living with new skills, new insights and research-based knowledge is a very exciting prospect!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Jane Barton. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.

We’ve only had one session with Dr.Barton, but I already felt compelled to leave a review. From the moment we met her, she created a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where both of us felt comfortable opening up. She listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and made each of us feel heard and understood.

Even after just one appointment, we left feeling hopeful and confident that we’re in good hands. Her compassion, professionalism, and ability to make difficult conversations feel productive really stood out. We’re looking forward to continuing our work with her and would absolutely recommend her to any couple looking for support.

Our experience with Dr. Barton has been wonderful. Her years of experience and insight are exactly what we needed to work through our issues. She is able to identify and help us work through problems with kindness and compassion. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to work on their marriage with a professional.
