About me

As a couples counselor, I have specific therapy rules that I follow when working with couples. Here's a breakdown of my approach:

a. Taking sides: My primary policy in couples and family conflicts is "Neutrality." Most of the time, I avoid acting as the "Tie Breaker" during conflicts. However, there may be exceptions when I notice that a conflict has been going on in a destructive, long-term deadlock that is harmful to the marriage or family. While taking sides will not be common, I may do so when there is a clear and identifiable benefit.

b. Keeping Secrets: When it comes to secret-keeping, I apply a "Clinical Judgment" policy. This means that I rely on my best clinical judgment based on the specific dynamics of the ongoing therapeutic relationship at the time the secret is revealed. In couples or marriage counseling, I am not obligated to keep individual secrets. Instead, I may decide whether to keep secrets, not keep them, set a time limit for keeping them, or even change my perspective and course of action as more details come to light.

My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for couples to work through their conflicts and challenges, always considering what will best serve their relationship's well-being.
