Dr. Hadass Harel

About me

I'm Hadass, and I'm a Trauma therapist. Which means that I believe that symptoms aren't some vague fluffy feeling, but rather a concrete, overwhelming, physical reality, caused by events we lived through, but also that all such symptoms, no matter how harsh they currently are, can be overcome with the right support and tools. Because coming from a history of trauma, you suffered enough and you deserve better.

I've done this work my entire adult life. I'm licensed in Massachusetts, and actually have 30 years of professional work experience. Over the years I've worked in many countries, in war zones and refugee camps, with trafficking victims and returning veterans, in Courts and in inner cities. I also worked with hundreds of brave survivors of home-grown traumas and assaults, from childhood abuse to domestic violence, which are so much harder to openly speak about and process. I have experience partnering and mentoring clients as they choose to challenge and overcome addictions (especially to opiates), eating disorders, dissociative disorders (even full blown personalities), relationship struggles, anger and other mood outbursts, even issues surrounding the process of trans-gendering.

I will add that sometimes, in addition to conventional tools I offer clients to manage their symptoms, I also advise those who are interested from my other trainings in several different hypnosis modalities, DBT, EMDR, or my certification in the use of Nutrition and supplements to equal the impact of psych meds.
I will say that in my experience, motivated and engaged clients who are aware that this is their right and their own choice do best. And I am certain that as long as this is your choice, and please do speak up about exactly what it is that fits you and what does not, you will do very well, heal and recover, and go on to a much better, symptom-free future.

Dr Harel has been 'spot on" with her sessions and following her advice we are beginning to strengthen as a couple and rebuild what I thought was not possible as the outside factors attacking us is great. Dr Harel has given us tools to help us. Thank you.
