Gail Roberson

About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Over the past 30 years, I have served couples (both hetro and LGBT) in South West Missouri. I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help you effectively address personal life challenges. I offer a highly-personalized approach tailored specifically to each couple's needs and life vision. With compassion and understanding, I help couples to build on their strengths and support them as they attain peace, companionship, and personal growth. I am especially recognized for my work in the areas of:

Depression and Anxiety in relationships
Marriage/Relationship Resolution *Family Friendly
Extended Family Issues
Healing wounds of infidelity
Recovery from domestic victimization
Life Transitions (physical; emotional; spiritual; career; geographical; etc)

I personally believe in and teach my clients how to use "The Power of Positive Thinking, in their own lives. I find a way to apply this principle to almost every relationship challenge. I am known for helping others recover, re-build, and rejuvenate their lives with their partners. . Above all, I focus couples on "Unconditional love and acceptance of each other as human beings and on positive regard and mutual respect.

In addition to offering in-person therapy sessions, I also serve as Clinical Director of a private practice covering several counties in SW Missouri, with the main office in Bolivar Missouri. In this position, I provide clinical supervision to Provisionally Licensed Counselors in multiple Southern Light locations in SW Missouri.

A recent change in my life came when I became aware of the Better Help platform. It was then that I transformed my 1930's Victorian Joplin office in a quaint, nostalgic neighborhood with all the "character of old-Joplin" into an Air BnB and invited my clients to begin "On-line Counseling" on the Better Help platform. Some people have asked the reason for this change since the Joplin office setting was widely recognized as a therapeutic experience for clients. Simply put, I believe the most therapeutic venue is where the client is most comfortable. On-line Counseling makes this possible by serving clients in the comfort of their own homes during non-traditional office hours. I welcome this new tradition of on-line Counseling due to the many benefit it affords my clients.

So grab your favorite soft drink, get a pen and paper, settle into your easy chair, and contact me. I am ready to help you.

Gail goes above and beyond for us - not only do we get the one on one attention typically seen in therapy, but she frequently also gives us resources and tools for our general mental wellness outside of just what we’re working on in therapy. She’s got a lot of great things to say, and I love how open minded and knowledgeable she is.

There is little I can say about both Gail and the platform that would really express my appreciation on my journey so far. The platform itself makes it easy for Gail and I to remain in frequent contact, and Gail has gone above and beyond to ensure she is responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely cares. I have made tremendous progress in a short period of time and am excited to continue.
