About me

I am a clinical therapist with over 21 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples.I graduated from the University of South Carolina where I earned my Bachelors in Psychology, and I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Francis Marion University. I have completed level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am a Diplomate with the Board of Forensic Examiners. I have worked in a variety of settings including, acute inpatient, residential long term psychiatric, outpatient mental health, and currently private practice. I enjoy seeing individuals, families and couples make progress and change as they learn new ways to communicate and cope. My role often is to offer a new perspective through which to view an issue. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, trauma, and family conflict, and addiction issues. I work primarily from a cognitive-behavioral and solution focused approach. My approach to working with couples is the Gottman Method, which encompasses clinically-proven theories and approaches to relationship problems, enables me to help you. I work to help couples develop positive communication styles and learn effective conflict resolution styles, re-engage emotionally and restore intimacy, recover from infidelity and betrayal and rebuild trust and commitment, adjust to the challenges of parenthood or blending families, understand how past relationships and experiences including family of origin influence your current relationship. If these sound like goals for your relationship I would love the opportunity to work with you.
