About me

My purpose in counseling is to provide encouragement, insight, and guidance to individuals and families so they find resolution and peace.
In addition, I am versed in Grief and loss counseling, developing problem solving skills, gender issues and marriage/couples' counseling.
I am also versed in Veterans issues, having work with all types of Veterans through the VA for 5 years.
I enjoy my work, as you may have noticed, I have been counseling for 31 years.
I typically use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which is an evidenced based therapy for most mental health diagnoses. However, I use other formats of counseling so to better individualize counseling to your needs.
I do understand counseling for some is rather scary, yet I believe you will fast realize that I have compassion and empathy for your issues. That I will be available to help you as often as possible unt l " you feel solid on your own two feet".

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ellen Shafer-Lind. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.

I’ve gone through so many therapists in my life, and many have made me closed off to therapy; so it feels gratifying to finally find a perfect fit. Ellen is one of a kind. She is very nurturing and wise. Her advice is amazing and she’s very open minded. That makes it easier to open up about anything. You can tell there is a lot of love in her heart and she extends that warmth out in her sessions. She’s not biased which is something all of us can appreciate, especially in couples counseling. I would encourage those who are fortunate enough to get her as a therapist, to give her a chance and to those who still haven’t found a good fit, to consider her. I highly recommend her!

Ellen is the best therapist I have worked with on Regain. She is understanding of both sides and VERY responsive, which has been such a game changer for us in therapy. We appreciate her expertise!
