About me

I am a Mental Health Therapist. I have been working as a LPC for over 6 years and I have been a Christian Lay Counselor in the Dallas area for over 15 years. I have worked with individuals and groups with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issue, however my main area of support is dealing with Trauma and clients with PTSD. I have helped the Vets and their families via Battle Buddies Retreats over the years to navigate through some of their trauma as well as many relationship issues caused by their trauma.

I have held many Couple counseling Retreats to allow the couples to understand and navigate the areas they are struggling with. Many times couples fail to learn to communicate properly or to understand each other. There are many reasons the relationship struggles. Together we will explore these reasons and then empower you to make the changes that would help you to better build or rebuild those important relationships.

I have a warm, supportive, interactive and positive approach to therapy. I use the Cognitive Behavioral approach as well as other modalities for therapy in helping you to achieve your recovery goals. I use Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and other trauma concerns.

It has been said, ”Put your hands in mine, and together we can accomplish what you could not do alone.”. I believe we all struggle from time to time and with the help of others, we can get through anything. You don’t have to walk this journey alone. I look forward to helping you become empowered to take control back of the areas your life that you need and want to.

I look forward to helping you to get more out of life.

He really does make you feel comfortable no matter what you are going through. I had trouble finding a good therapist but fom our first conversation I knew it was the right fit. Thank you for all you do and I hope to continue this therapist-patient relationship.

My husband and I like the structure Dwayne provides for our sessions. We’ve been to other counselors and we get so off topic or it gets way too heated and we leave the session worse than when we started. He has a clear and concise approach. We appreciate his years of experience.

Dwayne has a lot of empathy and a lot of life experiences he uses to provide helpful coping and relationship building strategies. He truly understands bipolar and it makes a huge difference in our sessions, and helps me feel more accepting of myself.

We have seen Dwayne twice now, and it seems like we have been seeing him for a long time. Dwayne didn't waste time diving right into our situation and listening to both of us walk through our challenges. There was equal amounts of conversation going back and forth. Dwayne is a very good listener and takes time to process before moving ahead with conversation/suggestions.

Even though our relationship got pretty rocky and we were having issues finding a way to communicate properly, Dwayne did an excellent job at providing a different perspective, and providing tools and wisdom to help us on this bumpy road. Since day 1 Dwayne made us feel comfortable and appreciated. Easy to talk to and very professional. Thanks a ton Dwayne :)

Very attentive and professional. Dwayne is an expect at providing and safe and comfortable environment to talk about the most uncomfortable things you normally may not want to talk about. Unbiased and funny. I really appreciate him.

After years of seeing different therapists Dwayne is definitely at the top. It is difficult to find someone with knowledge of BPD or even wants to treat us. Then with knowing of PTSD and Bipolar. He really knows his stuff and I am thrilled to be working with him. His approach completely matches the style that is affective for me to grow and he already knew this from two sessions. He is very good at what he does! Again, having spent almost two decades cycling through ineffective therapists, I know a good one when I see one. He’s a keeper!
