About me

In working as a licensed counselor, I strive to bring a blend of experience, energy, compassion, concern, and education to the counseling process, in working with those I serve. I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families for over 10 years. I have years of experience with mental and behavioral health, as well as substance abuse. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Charleston Southern University and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia Southern University. I am currently a Licensed Processional Counselor in Georgia and a National Board Certified Counselor. I have worked as a Therapist and also served as a Clinical Director, providing counseling and treatment on both an outpatient and inpatient level.

I would describe my approach in counseling as one that is client centered and individualized, filled with empathy and compassion. I am also direct and work with my clients to help them achieve their goals. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach, but also utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I like to focus on client’s strengths and help build upon that to deal with crisis situations or any past trauma that one may be working through.

On a personal note, I was raised in South Carolina, so I love the water and seafood, as my own personal ways to unwind. I am also married and my husband serves in the military.

I look forward to working with you and helping you to achieve your goals and grow to better love yourself.

Donna has been such a gift to us. She listens, she cares, and offers us great advice. It's a safe space where we continue to learn about each other and grow.
We've initially gone through at least 20 different counselors before we met Donna. So happy we continue to look!

Donna really is a great lady, I feel I can totally open up to her and the advice she gives is achievable with our relationship, my partner and I were at breaking point but Donna has shown us how to communicate better so we are working hard to continue forward with our relationship

My wife and I decided to give online couples counseling a go after finding traditional methods weren’t all that suited to our busy working and parenting lifestyle. Our counselor Donna Kemp has been amazing! We both feel she’s listened to us and given us the confidence to step out of our comfort zone to deal with problems that are easy to avoid. She is encouraging without being pushy. We’ve both responded very well to her and her methods and look forward to continuing on with Donna. Highly recommend!
