Congratulations, first of all, on your initiative to reach out and take care of your mental health! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana with 6 years of experience and I love what I do! Assisting others in improving their quality of life is a very rewarding and powerful experience, but it depends on you taking that first step. I work with a wide range of issues like depression, grief, stress, anxiety, anger, relationship, big life adjustments, etc.
I love working with couples and assisting with relationship issues. I have been married for 15 years so believe me, when I help you, I'm not just sharing theories with you! :) Whatever you're going through, I can relate to how you feel whether you're the man or the woman in the relationship. I am very non-judgmental so rest assured you will be in a very friendly and supportive environment.
My main approach to therapy is CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy). Cognitive therapy looks at how your patterns of thoughts and beliefs about a situation or a problem will lead you to certain emotions and determine your actions or reactions to it. So basically, when you have a different understanding about a situation, or see a different perspective, or identity an incoherent thought and adjust it, that changes how you feel. This approach works beautifully with couples because so many times a big part of the issues in relationships has to do with misunderstandings or lack of proper communication, which leads to lack of resolution of problems, which leads to accumulating resentments. We will always see the world with our own personal "lens" so we instinctively expect the other person to think like we do, react like we would, understand what we meant and that's not always the case. We forget that we're dealing with someone who is not "us"; who may think and see things differently; who may have different values; and these things can be problematic. There is much more that I won't get into here in this introduction, but I'm looking forward to talking to you, help you with some valuable insights that can transform your relationship and your life, and also share coping skills that you can find very useful.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you! Let's get started! :)

She has been a big help for me and my relationship
Ms. Denise has been a breath of fresh air. She is so involved in our therapy and does a wonderful job of conducting a productive and interactive session. The video sessions have been so much better than any other phone/chat sessions we’ve had with any other therapist. I look forward to many more sessions with Ms. Denise.
Denise has been very helpful to me and my partner. Fortunately, we’re not in a situation that requires regular, ongoing counseling; however, even working with her a few times has been helpful.
Denise has been fantastic. I truly feel like she is helping my partner and I take the proper steps towards repairing our relationship.
Denise has been extremely helpful for us to work through our unique struggles as a couple! She has given us many valuable skills to implement in between sessions. Her outside perspective has made it easier to navigate our current situation. We highly recommend her for any couple looking for some extra help in their relationship.
