About me
I have been practicing professional counseling since 1991. I am a licensed mental health counselor, and my license is from Florida. Much of my work has been trauma-related. As such I have worked not only with individuals who have experienced trauma, but also with their loved ones (spouse, family) so that all understand the dynamics related to trauma. For some trauma-sufferers, substance misuse has become a way of coping with the intrusive thoughts and feelings. I can help with substance misuse, also. My counseling framework/practice includes family-systems interactional, with cognitive-behavioral, transtheoretical (the Stage of Change model), solution-focused, and humanistic-existential. components I believe we all have four majors components to our lives: biological, psychological, social, and spiritual. All of this occurs within a family-systems dynamic or setting. Not every family-systems setting is the same, which requires me to take the time to understand your unique situation. To that end, effective counseling addresses all four areas through a systems-focus, though not all at the same time.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. David Wilcox. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
After completing our third session with Dr. Wilcox I am quite pleased with his counseling approach. I look forward to continuing through our therapy with eagerness.
My wife and I have been very pleased with Dr Wilcox. He asks the right questions, gives great advice and tools to grow with, and makes you feel like you truly matter.
Dr. Wilcox does a phenomenal job of listening and relating through his own experience while also bringing the expertise of a trained professional! We openly share our experience with others and highly recommend him!
Dr. Wilcox did a great job of acting as a neutral party and helping us get insights into each other's behaviors and finding ways to avoid conflict and communicate in productive ways. Very responsive and compassionate.
He makes me feel extremely comfortable and i feel like he has a deep understanding of my situation and my feelings

I feel comfortable expressing myself to Dr. Wilcox. He has provided my husband and me with tools to better our communication and problem solving in a life changing way. We truly appreciate the way he has helped our marriage and we've been able to hear each other in a different light to have the hard conversations without hesitation.
Dr. Wilcox is a wonderful supportive resource and very professional. Our sessions with him were productive and insightful.
He’s great, very open and understanding
Very professional and personable. Extremely happy to be working with him
Dr. Wilcox is a very calming presence, compassionate and non-judgmental in his listening. I have had a few different therapists in the past and even tho I began to work with him only recently I already feel he is the most understanding and best suited to support me with my concerns around relationship, communication and general well-being.
