About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Arizona. I have been practicing for sixteen years and own a counseling practice in Surprise, AZ. I am also approved as a clinical supervisor in AZ and work with both interns and associate counselors as they pursue degrees in counseling and acquire hours toward independent licensure. I find it very rewarding to help give back to the future generation of mental health practitioners. I am a native of WI but have called AZ my home since 2006.
Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I specialize in individual, couples, and family counseling. I also focus on adolescent and young adult issues and have extensive experience in this area. As a bio-psycho-social-spiritual counselor, I believe in treating the whole person. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance/Commitment Therapy, and Family Systems approach to counseling. Psychotherapy requires an active effort and commitment from the client, this is important in order to most effectively identify areas of concern and desired treatment goals. Counseling is an exploration of deep, personal life issues and areas of one's life that may have been buried for any number of reasons.
If you are ready to reclaim true control in your life or ready to redefine who you are and where you would like to go in life, schedule an appointment with me.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Daniel Bernhardt. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Regain might be different.
Daniel Bernhardt is an exceptional therapist who has truly made a difference in our relationship. My wife and I sought his guidance to improve our communication, and we couldn't be more grateful for his support. Daniel's approach is compassionate, insightful, and practical, making each session feel both productive and reassuring. He listens attentively, offers valuable tools, and creates a safe space for open dialogue. We’ve seen noticeable improvements in our communication and connection since working with him. If you're seeking someone who genuinely cares and can foster meaningful change, I highly recommend Daniel.
So far it's been beneficial and a pleasant experience.

Daniel is great. He is unbiased and understands both sides. We learned a lot from him in just a few sessions, including useful tools for communication and self awareness.
Daniel has been great so far, I look forward to his advice on many topics.
