About me
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Alabama State University in 2011 and a Master's Degree from the University of Alabama in 2014. I earned my LMSW in 2015 and my LICSW in 2017. I have been practicing at the clinical level, providing counseling services, since 2017. Before earning my clinical license, I worked with children and families at the Alabama Department of Human Resources for three years. I have also worked as a counselor at a youth detention facility. Since earning my clinical license, I have worked as a Clinical Supervisor at a therapeutic foster care agency for three years providing counseling to children and adults.
In working with children and families, my areas of focus include depression/anxiety, crisis intervention, ADHD, anger management, parenting, boosting self-esteem, communication, grief, behavioral issues, substance abuse, and domestic violence using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Behavior Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Play Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
I have five years of combined experience counseling couples since receiving my clinical license.

We are only a few sessions in and I can already tell she is the kind of person meant to help people in aspect of dealing with life challenges and the experience she has shows. She has offered kind and understanding support while delivering honest thoughts and advice. The last session lifted so much weight off my wife's shoulders I could see a sparkle in her eye towards me she hasn't showed in a long time. I feel as long as me and my wife continue to listen to her advice, be open, honest, let it out so she can evaluate things thoroughly, and put into place practices that help our marriage heal the best it can we have a real shot at being successful in finding our love for each other that was always there but ignored on many levels for many reasons. I needed help coping and knew I'd resent my wife for her mistake and my wife has always had trouble in many aspects of life with emotions brought on by events that are out of our control holding her back and Crystal is showing her it doesn't have to be that way that she deserves happiness too, even when she made a mistake most people don't get a second chance at fixing. I have struggled deeply with the reasons we are seeking her help and seeing positive changes have helped tremendously. I never thought I'd be going through what I am now and she has been very considerate of that, but is also showing me mistakes I have made that didn't help whether I had good intentions or not. Sorting through over a decade of bad relationship practices isn't easy but I feel very comfortable with her leading the way to show us a better way of life that helps me and my wife love each other at our lowest to get to the level of happiness life and love can offer if we stay true to ourselves on repairing this properly. I can't speak highly enough of Crystal. I hope she reads all of this. The happiness I saw in my wife after our last session picked me up more than she will ever know. I don't want to resent my wife or hate her and helping her love herself and know she's a wonderful person that made a mistake she's very regretful for, doesn't mean she is a horrible person. I can't thank her enough. I'm confident she will give my wife the skills needed to always know she's worth the happiness she deserves and see my love for her she thought wasn't there.
