About me
In the past 20 plus years that I’ve been working in the human services field, I’ve provided families and couples counseling to a lot of couples. Most of the time, the issues seem to form around communication and expectations, both which are learned from all of our previous relationships, good or bad, and the sense of security or insecurity that follows. Having gone through a divorce and break-ups myself, the relationships that I have exist because there is security and, in relationships, security is knowing that each partner appreciates the other and that each partner appreciates themselves. Whatever else “love” might be composed of, appreciation is a big part of it.

I was nervous about starting couples therapy. About it being one sided, but Carey was very welcoming, always maintained a calm demeanor, was very down to earth and relatable, and I always felt me and my partner were listened to as individuals, and treated fairly unbiased, and with safety and concern.
