It is an honor to work with couples as a Therapist. I have a M.S. in Family Therapy and have been practicing as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist for 11 years. Every person in therapy should be made: 1) to feel understood; 2) to feel appreciated; 3) to be given the benefit of the doubt; 4) to be treated as an equal; 5) to be treated respectfully; 6) to have the freedom to decide. Over the years I have learned that couples come to counseling to connect. In couples counseling I work in many areas such as communication and building emotional closeness. I will help you learn how to handle conflict and resolve issues through healthy conversation. I also help build emotional closeness in areas such as affection, conversation, recreational companionship and sexual fulfillment. I recommend spending 10-15 hours a week of undivided attention with your partner to meet each other's emotional needs.
It is a joy to work with motivated couples and see their relationship improve. The ability for each person to see their part and do their part is vital to the success of couples counseling. Your time is very important, so we should spend it on the issues that are most important to you. We will set goals and work on them together. I would love the opportunity to work with you.
