About me

Welcome! The first step towards change is usually the hardest. But, if you are here then you’ve taken a step in the right direction. A step towards Change. Congratulation!

Hello! My name is Atiya Moore and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), in the state of Maryland. Over the last 17 years I have work in a variety of Behavioral Health settings. I have worked collaboratively with a variety of clients experiencing challenges including, but not limited to, mental health, substance use, trauma recovery, sexual health recovery and criminality. I specialize in working with WOC who have experienced chronic historical, multi-generational, community and/or interpersonal trauma. I support women combat the Victim Mentality, Self-Doubt and Self Sabotage, that contribute to blockages and stagnation in the change process. My methods include Mindfulness Practices, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and grounding practices, to name a few. I am not afraid to think outside of the box to explore non-traditional approached including Energy Management and therapeutic gardening.

My passion is working with children and families. In communities of color there is an understanding that it takes a community to raise a child. What happens when a child experiencing multiple adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)? They are more likely to become adult clients. Its time to break the cycle. Break the generational curse!

If you are ready to do your personal work, in order to manifest the changes, you desire, then I am here for support. Let’s work together!

So great to find someone who has gone above and beyond to help my life partner love the magic of therapy. Forever grateful for her analogies, realism and true unbiased advise that sometimes it’s hard to swallow, but is always true.

Atiya is a fabulous couples/relationship counselor. She is very flexible with out schedules and is fine with us doing one-on-one sessions as well when we need to.

In the limited time I engaged with her, Atiya was very professional, quickly responded to text, and understanding. Additionally, she has over 10 years of counseling experience.

I felt that her communication with us has been excellent. I have tried a few counselors in the past and I feel as if I they talk at me not to me. I have a very different vibe from her. She is has given me things that have already been helpful. Whats interesting is in our last session before we finished, she questioned why i was being so quite. She was able to tell that I wasnt being completely genuine. Other counselors havent noticed that let alone call me out on it. After that I feel like she has the correct mentality to help.

Work with me!
