Allison Bayard

About Me

Hi! I'm so glad you're exploring my information and I hope we can work together.

My name is Ally and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I have over 8 years of experience in the counseling field. I often discuss with clients how working together in therapy is like renovating a house. You are the homeowner and I am the consultant. Together we discuss goals for the renovation, and explore what is working about the house, and what areas might need some work. Like any renovation, parts of the project will be fun and exciting, parts of the project may be challenging and require more work, and we may find areas of weakness that we didn't expect. But we will work together each step of the way to make the new house everything you know it can be.

To tell you a little more about my background and education:
I am licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana. I earned my undergraduate degree from LSU while working as a research assistant in the department of neuropsychology under Dr. William Gouvier. I then graduated with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as the top student in my cohort. I have provided family and relationship counseling in many contexts including hospitals, private practice, IOPs, and churches. My areas of expertise in relationship counseling include:
-premarital counseling
-co parenting
-healing from infidelity
-and various other relationship stressors

I employ different treatment strategies based on you and on your needs. This can include anything from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (exploring how your thoughts affect your behaviors) to mindfulness training. I am well-versed in working with individuals and couples. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions... the goal of therapy is your success!

Allison really listens. She really gets deep easily even if you don't say it. She is gentle and gets to the point at the same time. I so far feel very confident and comfortable with Allison.
